Daun Belalai Gajah – Would It Be Better Than This..

All of my posts have been about Daun Belalai Gajah which needless to say were written in Malay. Since I have explained in more detail about Belalai Gajah in this language, I believe it would only be fair to me to extend my information about this plant in English for this article. It really amuses me that the name of the plant has different meaning in both Malay and English.

In Malay the meaning of daun belalai gajah means Elephants Trunk whereas Sabah Snake Grass means Rumput Ular Sabah or even the Grass which is named following a Sabah Snake or is it a Snake which is from Sabah that eats the grass referred to as Sabah Snake Grass (Grass that is food for Sabahan Snakes in a nutshell)? Anyway my point would be that the name in the plant differs in meaning both in languages.

Like most of us, should we learn about something we have now never heard before, the initial place that we would search is Wikipedia. Sabah Snake Grass in Wikipedia will explain that the plant scientific name is Clinacanthus nutans and it is part of the Acanthaceae family. This actually makes me wonder if they would reveal the name from the Godfather of Sabah Snake too considering that the introduction sounded like a review of a Mafia crime family.

Consuming the tea manufactured from Sabah Snake Grass leaves is simple. There are some methods for eating or drinking the leaves:

a) Consume it as it is. If people can eat fish since it is without cooking (raw) why wouldnt you take in leaves without cooking it as well? Once you consume it because it is, you will make it like it is a dish alone. You eat it raw with rice and possibly with shrimp paste sambal. It is DELICIOUS!

b) Cook it. Yup, there exists a little of hardship involved but hey, in case you are a good cook or maybe you have a friend who is a great cook, you cook those leaves.

c) You transform it into juices. With accessories like green apple and water and the use of a blender, you can turn the basic leaves from your Acanthaceae family of into juices.

d) Ensure it is into hot tea. This is our favourite topic. We like a cuppa tea in the morning or at night and what else can make the enjoyment in our hot beverage better still? Great Wonderful Health! How much more can we mzfort in regards to a simple habit of drinking tea daily? If you value health you would understand and agree with me or us as to why we are meant to adopt this healthy habit.

e) Pills yes you will find Sabah Snake Grass leaves pill for sale but it is less popular as well as the necessary certification needed for such alternative is just too time consuming for manufacturer to comply thus ensure it is less popular.

Our Teh Belalai Gajah or Sabah Snake Grass Tea is simple to consume. Every sachet is individually packed to be able to take it with you during your travels unlike consuming it raw off of the tree or perhaps so when you prefer making juices. Imagine preparing your plant for your flight then explaining to immigration. I am certain your plant is going to be quarantined and you will definitely not be able to enjoy what you eat from the said leaves. We ensure it is easy and more fun plus less hassle too.

The flavour is simply lovely. It provides the slight taste of Green Tea Leaf so if you have experienced the chance to try the said tea and you also didnt mind, you wouldnt mind to drink this tea either. There is absolutely no foul smell either. So should you ask us to provide a rating on the taste and smell, I might give it an 8 or even a 9 away from 10. I really dont mind it so I am sure anyone else wouldnt either.
